This fictional story starts with Randy as an 8th grader at St. Augustine's Grade School
in Pine Grove, Wisconsin. He is the best player on the Eagles' basketball team but the team is struggling.
Randy blames his coach.
In a game halfway through the season, Randy's anger erupts. He shouts at
his coach and everybody in the crowd can hear. He wishes the fans would start
hollering at Coach O'Neill, too.
The coach knows Randy is the best player on the team and that it must be hard for him without anyone else as good.
Coach O'Neill tries to be understanding. He lets Randy stay in the game.
That just makes things worse.
